Athens Maritime Technology Showcase 2025 organised by the British Hellenic Chamber of Commerce and the Society of Maritime Industries

On Wednesday, 7 May 2025, the Athens Maritime Technology Showcase 2025, co-organised by the British Hellenic Chamber of Commerce (BHCC) and the Society of Maritime Industries (SMI), under the Auspices of the British Embassy in Athens, was successfully held. The Showcase took place at the Piraeus Marine Club, in the presence of His Majesty’s Ambassador to the Hellenic Republic, members of the Board of Directors of the British Hellenic Chamber of Commerce, Greek and British entrepreneurs, senior executives from the maritime sector, as well as members of the Chamber.

As part of the event, brief welcome greetings were delivered by Manos Lorentzos, Greek Vice President of the British Hellenic Chamber of Commerce, Matthew Lodge, His Majesty’s Ambassador to the Hellenic Republic, and Helen Stephen, Director of the Society of Maritime Industries.

The event offered a unique opportunity to maintain momentum between Posidonia years and networking opportunities, ensuring UK companies stay visible and relevant in the crucial Greek Shipping market.

The presentation of innovative ideas in the field of maritime technology by ten participating British companies -experts in their fields- was a targeted initiative aimed at strengthening the relationship between these companies and shipowners, executives of shipping enterprises and Greek shipyards, as well as key stakeholders of the Greek maritime community. Cutting-edge UK technologies were presented especially aligned with the industry’s priorities, including energy efficiency, regulation compliance, and cost-saving solutions.
